As Dr. Anthony Fauci took his seat before the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, a recognizable face sat just behind him: Fox News host and MAGA propagandist Laura Ingraham.
Ingraham was not there as a newsgatherer. Instead, the Fox News host was there as a participant in a years-long campaign to transform Fauci from the respected public face of America's pandemic response into one of the right's most enduring villains. Indeed, one of conservative media's longest-running dramas has become villainizing the respected infectious disease physician.
